We are seeking a suitably qualified Building Inspector to join our team.

As a key member of the Development Services unit, the Building Inspector is responsible for providing quality building inspections, permit assessments, reporting, enforcement services, conflict management and specialist advice in accordance with the relevant legislation, standards, codes of practice and Council plans.

A high attention to detail, research and negotiation skills are required, along with accurate record keeping, and a focus on customer service and industry best practice.

To be successful in this role you will have a current registration for all buildings without limitations through the Victorian Building Authority, have been registered for no less than three years, have extensive municipal experience, thorough knowledge of the Building Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice and relevant Australian Standards, have the ability to undertake a mentor role for a trainee, and the ability to communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
