Position: General Worker (Non-renewal 6-month contract

Core Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance work around water bodies as well as terrestrial landscapes.
- Perform tasks involving physical labour around water bodies as well as terrestrial landscapes.
- To assist with the maintenance of water bodies i.e cutting, removal and loading of water hyacinth and reeds from natural resources around the city.
- Manually remove alien invasive vegetation (water hyacinth, reeds, water lilies etc) using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Manually remove litter, debris, plastic or any foreign materials from water bodies (rivers, lakes and dams)
- Safely operates hand tools needed to carry daily activities
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities and tools
- Perform maintenance tasks based on instructions from Supervisors.
- Properly maintain and store equipment and materials in a safe, secure and orderly manner.
- Complete daily work assignments in a timely and accurate manner

Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 10 or equivalent
- South African Citizens
- Resident of City of Ekurhuleni
- Being able to read and write.
- Being physically and mentally fit to carry out the work
